Print-in-place lithophane frames

The problem

Lithophanes are easy to make and easy to give away. Frames for them are not: the usual designs need supports, and supports mean cleanup time on every single unit.

What I did

Design for manufacturing, applied to a very small object. The geometry was reworked so every overhang is within the printable angle and the hinge prints in place, already assembled.

The result

Supports eliminated entirely, and post-processing with them. The part comes off the plate finished, which is what makes it viable to make more than one of.

A battery-powered version was in progress at the time of writing.
