This is the thing I am actually good at, and it is where most jobs should start.
You send the broken part, or photographs of it, and tell me what it does and how it is mounted. I come back with what failed, why it failed, and what to change: geometry, material, process, or all three.
What you get
- A written assessment of the failure mode
- A recommended fix, with the reasoning
- A route to production, whether that is me or somebody bigger
Why it is paid
Because the thinking is the work. A free quote would either be worthless or would be me doing the job and hoping. The fee comes off the redesign if you go ahead.
